Gazai is an applied AI startup developing Anini, a next-generation AI companion application. We are disrupting the rapidly growing AI chatbot market by combining advanced generative AI with an interactive "anime-style sandbox visual novel" format.
We build highly interactive, visually consistent AI companions. Powered by our proprietary AI models fine-tuned for specific art styles, Anini generates dynamic, on-demand visual narratives alongside text.
For 2026 and beyond, one of our key goals is to transition Anini characters from reactive chatbots to agent-native autonomous companions. We want Anini characters to be proactive, and integrate directly into users' daily workflows via social media, smart home devices, and IoT hardware.
Gazai has an engineering presence in both Taiwan and Japan. Our engineering team includes members specialized in AI & machine learning, as well as full stack & mobile software development.
About the role
We are looking for an AI Engineer to join our team and build the next generation of autonomous AI Agents. In this role, you will design and build intelligent systems capable of reasoning, planning, and executing complex workflows.
This is a key role in the growing AI team at Gazai. You will play a part in developing the key AI innovations that deliver value to our customers. You will also have the chance to shape our long term AI roadmap at Gazai.
Responsibilities
Your job responsibilities will include:
- Leverage state-of-the-art agentic frameworks (e.g. OpenClaw) and tailor them for Gazai use cases
- Deploy agents on a scalable and reliable backend
- Continuously build and add new capabilities to Gazai’s agents, e.g. new tools and skills
- Optimize agent serving for latency, reliability, and cost
- Build evaluation frameworks for the above
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in agents and LLMs
You will be working closely with our software engineering team and our product team, to bring the value of our AI innovations to our customers.
Qualifications
- 3+ years professional ML / AI / software engineering experience, with at least 1 year working on agentic applications and/or LLM-based applications
- Experience with agentic frameworks, e.g. OpenClaw, LangChain/LangGraph, Autogen, CrewAI, built your own, etc
- Experience building custom agent tools, skills, MCP servers
- Experience with LLM APIs and/or open source / open weight LLMs
- Conceptual understanding of LLMs — how do they work “under the hood”?
- Strong software engineering skills and proficiency in python
- Eager to stay up to date on latest AI developments, fast learner
Bonus points
- Experience training LLMs (pre-training and/or post-training)
- Strong understanding of AI models and algorithms, foundational ML, and deep learning knowledge
- Research publications in AI
- Experience with vector databases, e.g. PineCone, Chroma, Qdrant, etc.

担当業務
主な業務内容は以下のとおりです。
- 最先端のエージェント開発フレームワーク（例：OpenClaw）を活用し、Gazaiのユースケースに合わせて最適化する
- スケーラブルで信頼性の高いバックエンド上にエージェントをデプロイする
- 新しいツールやスキルなど、Gazaiのエージェントに新たな機能を継続的に開発・追加する
- レイテンシ・信頼性・コストの観点から、エージェントの実行基盤を最適化する
- 上記を評価するためのフレームワークを構築する
- エージェントおよびLLMに関する最新動向を常にキャッチアップする
ソフトウェアエンジニアリングチームおよびプロダクトチームと密に連携しながら、私たちのAI技術の価値をお客様へ届けていただきます。
応募要件
- ML / AI / ソフトウェアエンジニアリングの実務経験3年以上（うち、エージェント系アプリケーションまたはLLMベースのアプリケーションの開発経験が1年以上）
- エージェント開発フレームワークの使用経験（例：OpenClaw、LangChain/LangGraph、Autogen、CrewAI、自作のものなど）
- カスタムのエージェントツール・スキル・MCPサーバーの構築経験
- LLM API、またはオープンソース・オープンウェイトのLLMの利用経験
- LLMの仕組みに関する概念的な理解（「内部でどのように動いているのか」を説明できること）
- 高いソフトウェアエンジニアリングスキルと、Pythonの習熟
- 最新のAI動向を学び続ける意欲があり、習得が速いこと
